Value Options Letter

Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 20, 2026

Summary

We try to collect as little personal data as possible. The only identifiers we need are your email address and a subscription record; everything else — payment details, auth tokens, session data — is handled by established sub-processors (Stripe and Clerk) under their own privacy and security programs. We do not know anything about your brokerage, your holdings, or the trades you actually place. That is deliberate.

1. Information we collect

From you directly:

  • Email address.
  • Billing name and address (only to the extent you enter it during Stripe checkout).
  • Optional feedback or support messages you send us.

From sub-processors on your behalf:

  • Stripe — processes your payment. We receive the Stripe customer ID, plan, and subscription status. Stripe, not us, holds your card details. See Stripe’s privacy policy.
  • Clerk — handles authentication (sign-in, sign-up, session). We receive a Clerk user ID and the email you authenticated with. See Clerk’s privacy policy.

Automatically, when you use the site:

  • IP address and user-agent (used to serve requests and to detect abuse; retained in server access logs for a limited period).
  • Session cookies set by Clerk to maintain your authenticated state.

2. Information we do NOT collect

We do not collect, request, or receive any of the following:

  • Brokerage account credentials or API keys.
  • Portfolio holdings or position data.
  • Trade execution history.
  • Tax or financial records.
  • Government-issued identification numbers.

Subscribers act on the Publication’s ideas (or not) through their own brokerage, outside of our view.

3. How we use information

  • To deliver the Publication and operate the subscriber dashboard.
  • To process payments and send billing notifications.
  • To send transactional emails (new-trade publications, account alerts).
  • To send occasional product updates (which you can unsubscribe from at any time).
  • To respond to your support requests.
  • To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents.

4. How we share information

We share personal data only with the sub-processors listed above (Stripe, Clerk) for the purposes they serve, or as required by law. We do not sell personal data. We do not share your email with third parties for their own marketing use.

5. Retention

We keep your email and subscription record for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal, accounting, and tax obligations. Server access logs are retained for up to 90 days. Sub-processors retain data under their own schedules.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to port it, to object to certain uses, or to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@valueoptionsletter.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

California residents: under the CCPA / CPRA you have specific rights including the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do neither), and to non-discrimination for exercising these rights.

EEA and UK residents: we process personal data on the legal bases of contract (to provide the service you subscribed to) and legitimate interest (security, fraud prevention, product improvement). You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

7. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards — HTTPS in transit, encryption at rest through our infrastructure provider, and limited internal access to personal data. No system is perfectly secure; if we become aware of an incident affecting your data we will notify you as required by law.

8. Children

The Publication is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has subscribed, contact us and we will delete the account.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or an in-Publication notice. See the “Last updated” date above for the current version.
